All About Green Winged Macaw: Characteristics, Care, and Habitat

The Severe Macaw, scientifically known as Ara severus, is a species of parrot native to South America. They are medium-sized birds, typically around 16-18 inches (40-45 cm) in length, and are characterized by their vibrant plumage and long tails. Severe Macaws are predominantly green, with patches of red on their shoulders and a blue-green forehead.

Like many other parrot species, Severe Macaws are facing threats in the wild due to habitat loss, illegal trapping for the pet trade, and other human activities. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their natural habitats and regulate the trade of these birds to ensure their long-term survival in the wild.
